Who We Are?
ABOUT US
Welcome! If you want to know about meals and nutrition education for older adults in Colorado, you’ve come to the right place!
CANSD stands for Colorado Association of Nutrition Services Directors. We are the main source of good older adult meals, nutrition education and resources in Colorado. We meet at least semi-annually and provide information, training, support and solutions for organizations that are providing meals through the Older Americans Act, a federal program that provides funding for nutrition, wellness, information and assistance, and other services for older adults and caregivers.
You can find menus, recipes and information about food and nutrition in our Sharables section.
Providers can find regulations, forms, and procedures to help with your operational needs in our Resources section.
We also provide nutrition education articles and free courses (on this external site) for older adults.

Who We are
We are a coalition of meal program directors and we are primarily funded by the Older Americans Act, state and local funds. We provide meals in community settings and also deliver meals to older adults. Our menus meet the unique needs of older adults and are approved by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.
We also provide nutrition education and counseling tailored for older adults and caregivers.
Each program is either funded by or belongs to a local Area Agency on Aging. There are 16 Area Agencies on Aging in Colorado and we receive direction from The State of Colorado State Unit on Aging.
